Before we draw anything, we look at what the closet has to hold: long dresses and coats, shirts, folded knitwear, shoes, bags. The mix decides the layout, not a standard template.
Long garments usually need about 60 to 70 inches of clear hanging height; shirts and jackets need about 40 inches, so two rails can often be stacked in one section. A hanging section needs a depth of about 24 inches so hangers do not touch the doors.
Folded clothes sit best on shelves about 12 to 16 inches deep and not too far apart, so stacks do not topple. Drawers keep small things tidy; a divided top drawer is handy for watches and jewelry.
Hinged doors open fully and suit rooms with space in front of the wardrobe. Sliding doors, including mirrored ones, save space in narrow rooms and hallways. Handles can be cut into the doors so the front stays flat.
Soft LED strips inside the wardrobe light the clothes when the doors open. A wardrobe can also include a desk, a dressing table or open shelves, like the wardrobe with a floating desk shown below.
A walk-in closet works best with at least about 36 inches of clear floor between the sides. We draw the whole room in 3D so you can see where every rail, shelf and drawer goes.
Send us a photo of your space, rough sizes or a picture you like. We draw your piece in 3D to the inch, with the size, wood, finish and hardware. You approve every detail, then we make it by hand in our workshop and deliver it to your home.
